Katelyn Aubrey
Canine Coordinator
Katelyn Aubrey has served as the Canine Coordinator for MNK9SS since 2017 and has been actively involved in search and rescue for nearly 15 years. With a lifelong passion for working dogs she has guided multiple canine partners through training, certification, and deployment. Beyond her own dogs, Katelyn has trained and screened numerous USAR and SAR canine prospects across the United States, helping ensure that the next generation of working dogs are well-prepared for the demands of the field. Katelyn also assists with criminal cases, lending her expertise to investigations where trained canines can make a critical difference.

Her first partner, K9 Rebel, a spirited yellow Labrador Retriever, set the foundation for her career. Rebel certified in wilderness and achieved CST-CE, Type I in LF, through FEMA/SUSAR, successfully recertifying throughout her working life before retiring to a well-deserved life of comfort and love.

Katelyn’s second partner, K9 Mayhem, a Golden Retriever with boundless energy and a love for food and people, first achieved CST-CE, Type I in HR in 2018 through FEMA/SUSAR. Mayhem also holds certifications in both land and shoreline and continues to maintain his recertifications. He’s known across the team for his signature “Tigger jumps” and joyful enthusiasm.

Currently, Katelyn is working with K9 Shadow, a bold and fearless Golden Retriever who has achieved his Type II, FSA and is actively training toward his Type I, CE. Shadow is well-loved for his booming bark and playful tug-of-war matches.

She is also developing K9 Bandit, a driven young field-bred Golden Retriever donated by Fire Kissed Goldens. Bandit is training in HR and is already showing impressive drive, an eagerness to eat, and endless love for chasing the ball.

As Canine Coordinator, Katelyn is dedicated not only to her own dogs’ success but also to supporting and mentoring handlers and canines across MNK9SS, ensuring that the team remains ready to respond whenever and wherever they are needed.
